A wonderful beginning for our Southeast USA road trip. From Chapel Hill, NC to Charleston, SC. First, we visited Fayetteville to see around and make a quick city tour. Actually, we would plan to visit The Airborne and Special Operations Museum. However, we needed to catch up on our schedule and therefore we passed this option. Our next stop was the South of the Border. There were so many colorful buildings, signboards, and different facilities. We visited a gift shop and looked at Mexican clothes and hats which were really amazing.
After the South of the Border, we arrived at Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum. I thought it was a speechless experience to be there. There were three ships in the museum. The biggest one was the USS YORKTOWN aircraft carrier and the others were the USS LAFFEY destroyer and a submarine. Because of the pandemic, the submarine was closed. We spent almost 4-5 hours on USS YORKTOWN. We have never seen an aircraft carrier before. It was a great experience for all of us.
Our last stop was Charleston downtown. We visited Historic Charleston City Market, Joe Riley Waterfront Park, and Rainbow Row. We enjoyed the city a lot because it was a historic and cozy city like a European city.
