After a great breakfast we took an Uber and began our third day.
The Ukrainian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War, Motherland Monument
Our first stop was The Ukrainian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War. It is located under the Motherland Monument a big museum with a lot of material special from the WW2 time. There were art, sculptures, and some interesting war vehicles such as tanks, trucks. And the Motherland Monument is one of the visiting cards of Kyiv. The sculpture is a part of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War and symbolizes the feat accomplished by people during the war.
Pechersk Lavra
The second interesting place that we visited was Pechersk Lavra. We would recommend any religious and non religious person to visit this monastery especially the lower caves. The architecture and symbology has a lot of meaning and is very beautiful. The whole place resonates with what is inside of you and you always leave in high spirits. Women, for the caves, remember to bring a scarf to cover your hair and if possible a skirt that goes past your knees (there are kilts if you forget). While we were leaving Pechersk Lavra, we saw the local market on the street and bought honey from local seller. Remember honey is quite famous in Kiev.
Hydropark
Our third stop was Hydropark. This place is awesome for resting, swimming and sunbathing. There were also a great number of outdoor events and activities. We had a chance to see Kyiv in miniature in Hydropark. All important buildings are together in the Kyiv in miniature. It similar but a bit smaller than Miniaturk in Istanbul.
Musafir Restaurant
After a long day, we got tired and very hungry. Thus, we went to Musafir to eat Crimean food. Musafir is the one of our favorite restaurant in Kiev.
